Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEVELYN ALFILDA BUTTON (BEALEY) June 30, 1933 - July 03, 2000 At Lake of the Woods Hospital in Kenora, Evelyn Button of Dryden passed away peacefully after a lengthy battle with Alzheimers Disease. Evelyn was born June 30 1933 in La Tuque, PQ to Walter and Agda Bealey. She attended nursing school at Jeffrey Hale Hospital in Quebec City graduating in 1955. Upon graduation she moved west and worked at the Altona Hospital and the Manitoba Clinic. She married Thomas Button at St. Martins-In-the-Field Church on August 8, 1958 in Winnipeg, MB. They moved to Shoal Lake, MB in 1967 spending four years there before moving to Dryden, ON in 1971. Together they started Professional Pharmacy in Dryden in 1975, retiring in 1994. Evelyn was diagnosed with Alzheimers Disease in 1997. Evelyn will be sadly missed by husband Thomas; children, Jeffrey, Robert (Jeanette) of Dryden, Dawn (Wayne) of Winnipeg; and three grandsons, Christopher, Nicholas, and Jack. She is also survived by her sisters, Gloria Paseska of Winnipeg, and Betty Allan of Maniwaki, PQ; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father Walter in 1975 and her mother Agda in 1976. Evelyn had a real zest for life before being incapacitated by her illness; she enjoyed spending time with family and friends and donated time and energy to various organizations. She enjoyed travelling, gardening, cooking, and displayed her creative talent through needlepoint and knitting. There are many friends, acquaintances, former co-workers and customers who will fondly remember her quick wit and her flair for good-natured sarcasm. Visitation will take place Thursday, July 6 between 3:00 and 7:00 p.m. at the Moffat Chapel in Dryden. Funeral services will take place 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 7 at St. Lukes Anglican Church, Rev. Ron Risley officiating. Interment in the Dryden Cemetery will immediately follow the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society or to the Dryden 2000 campaign (in care of Moffat Funeral Chapel, 50 Albert St., Dryden ON P8N 1H7)
