JOHN REAY (Jack) McNIVEN  Suddenly on Tuesday, July 4, 2000 at his home, Jack, beloved husband of Carol (nee Root) for 40 years passed away. Besides his wife Carol he leaves to mourn beloved daughters, Lori and Lynda McNiven and his young grandson Christopher John (C.J.) whom he worshipped from the day he was born. C.J. spent many happy hours building lego or just talking "man" talk to "papa", whom he adored. Jack was predeceased by his parents in 1993 and 1995. Jack was employed for 36 years at C.N.R., beginning at staff records and later at the C.N. Depot in the equipment department where he retired as supervisor at the age of 53. He was asked to plan the Christmas party and it became an annual successful venture under his expertise until his death. His great love was planning the annual vacation and his family traveled by car to their favourite states of California, and Colorado. In the last three years Jack spent contented days and weeks in the company of pets we cared for in our business Furry Paws. A Celebration of Jacks Life will be held on Friday, July 7 at 2:00 p.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1501 Waverley Street. Donations may be made in Jacks memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 301-352 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3B 2H8. Your memories are our keepsakes from which we will never part. God has you in His keeping but we have you in our hearts. LEATHERDALE GARDINER 1501 Waverley Street 949-4860
