Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryARTHUR WALTER LERCH After a lengthy illness, Arthur Lerch passed away at the Deer Lodge Centre on Wednesday July 5, 2000 at the age of 79. He was predeceased by his parents, Emil and Pauline; sister Olga and brothers, Herman and Adolf. Arthur will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife Anna; children, Garth (Carolyn), Gordon, Faye (David), and Ferol (Grant) eleven grandchildren, three great-granddaughters; brother Bill; sister Delma; and numerous nieces and nephews. Arthur was born on the farm in Rosenfeld, where he spent his early years. He married Anna on July 20, 1941. Arthur had a 25 year career with the Royal Canadian Air Force serving all across Canada. He then worked for 15 years with Manitoba Housing. He enjoyed playing and watching sports, and traveling, but his family always came first. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 9 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Funeral service will be held on Monday, July 10 at 3:00 p.m. also at the Chapel with visitation one half-hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. A gathering of friends and family will be held in the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations in Arthurs memory can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Winnipeg, 120 Donald Street, R3C 4G2 or the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation 301-352 Donald Street, R3B 2H8. "Your illness took away your memory and dignity, but never your beautiful smile. You are in the hands of the Lord now, and he shall give you peace."
