ANTONIA (TONI) MARY SMALL (nee HOSHOWSKI) November 18, 1919 - July 5, 2000 It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Antonia (Toni) Small in her 81st year at the Health Sciences Centre on July 5, 2000. Antonia was predeceased by her husband Alex in October, 1998 and also her mother Bertha and father Walter. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Louis (Marlene) of Falcon Lake, Richard (Lesley) grandchildren, Janet (Robin), Jim (Bernice), Lesley, Cherie (Steve) great-grandchildren, Carter, Samantha and Shelby all of Winnipeg. She is also survived by her sister Olga Baron; brother Morris Hoshowski (Deanna) all of Winnipeg; and sisters-in-law, Peggy Gosselin, Sophie Small and brother-in-law Bill Small (Eleanor) of Detroit, Michigan. Mom attended Brooklands School in Winnipeg and after graduation, she worked at Eatons. She was a great cook; happiest at home where she enjoyed sharing her famous perogies and apple pie with her family and friends. She was always there for her family with patience and understanding, as a listener, without being judgmental. Her caring nature, kind and generous heart and gentle spirit will be remembered lovingly in the hearts of all of us. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff on D5 and A4A Wards at Health Sciences Centre, and a special thanks to all who were there for Mom, to offer comfort, care for and spend time with her. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 11 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street at Luxton Avenue with Rev. Fr. Walter Klimchuk officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in memory of Toni may be made to the charity of ones choice. Cropo Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements, 586-8044.
