AUDREY JEAN CLEMENT (nee SCHULTZ) January 25, 1939 - July 6, 2000 We send you on Wings of Love to your new home above. Yesterday, a new star began burning brightly in the skies over St. Vital. Another angel is in heaven tonight as Audrey, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and faithful friend succumbed to her long and courageous struggle with cancer. With tears we mourn her passing; yet with smiles we remember her always. Audrey will be missed by her loving husband Claude; her devoted children, Randy (Carol) of Edmonton, Alberta, Brenda (Pat) and Nicole (Dan), all of Winnipeg. She will always be remembered by her six grandchildren, Jennifer and Shaun Clement of Edmonton, Andrea and Jessica McShane and Stephanie and Kristine Smith, all of Winnipeg. She will be sadly missed by her brother George (Marty) Schultz of Crossfield, Alberta; her sisters, Joyce Palendat and Eleanor (Bob) Lynch, all of Winnipeg and sister-in-law Gladys of Edmonton, Alberta. Also mourning her loss will be her mother-in-law, Marie (Grandma) Clement; her many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law from the Clement Family; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and last, but not least, her close friends, former neighbours and many school chums, as well as Glenlawn Staff. Audrey was predeceased by her parents August (1973) and Tillie Schultz (1978) her brother Bill Schultz (1998), as well as her father-in-law Mathias Clement (1986). Audrey was a tower of strength for her family, always available and ready to respond to any request for help and advice. She will be missed dearly but her memory will endure through the love and respect of her family and friends. Audrey sincerely treasured her family, friends, neighbours and Glenlawn staff. She also treasured her weekends at her retreat at Hillside Beach. There are not enough words to say about the joy she brought to everyone with her endless cheery attitude. Audrey received her education in St. Boniface and St. Vital. Upon graduation she went to Practical Nurses Training and worked from 1957 to 1974 at the Emergency Department of Childrens Hospital - Winnipeg. She started in the St. Vital School Division in 1979 through to 1981. She joined Glenlawn Collegiate in the ESL Department in 1981 and remained there till October 1998. She also played a key role in setting up and helping her husband form their business Winnipeg Tree and Lawn Care. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the special kindness and support to all whom helped Audrey in her four year battle with ovarian cancer. Many thanks to her family, friends, Glenlawn staff, Dr. Lotocki, Dr. Heywood, nurses in Oncology, 3B Gyney and the Palliative Care Unit at St. Boniface Hospital, and also to her Monday night Gynecological Support Group for their continuing support during her illness. With courage, wisdom and will, Audrey demonstrated to all, the importance of having angels in your life. We believe that when a good person is taken from this earth, a good soul is born to take its place. Whoever this person is, they know they will have big shoes to fill. A celebration of Audreys life will be held on Tuesday, July 11 at 1:00 p.m. at Grey Street United Church, Grey and Sandhurst, Winnipeg, Manitoba with the Rev. Gordon Fulford officiating. Those wishing to do so may make a donation in Audreys memory to the National Ovarian Cancer Association of Canada, in care of the Manitoba Cancer Treatment and Research Foundation, 100 Olivia St., Winnipeg, R3E 9Z9. LECLAIRE BROTHERS in care of arrangements, 775-2220.
