HERTA ELVERA HEDWIG BECKER TURCOTTE Herta Elvera Hedwig Becker Turcotte died July 6, 2000 after fighting a long battle against Alzheimers Disease. Herta was born November 26, 1932 in Duisberg, Germany. She moved to Canada when she was 21 years old. Herta married Raymond Turcotte and had seven children. Michelle, Linda, Mark, Peter, David, Angela, and Jacqueline. Herta was a strong and beautiful woman and the best mom. She survived the Second World War and the loss of her parents at a very young age. When she moved to Canada, she didnt speak a word of English and managed to bring up seven children who adored her. She became a nurses aide and worked at Health Sciences Centre for almost 20 years. Herta was loved by her patients and her fellow co-workers. Herta will be missed by her friends, family and numerous grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mom We all know what you gave up for us. You did the best you could. We thank you our little Birdie.
