JACOB (JAKE) GIESBRECHT Following a brief illness, Jake passed away peacefully July 6, 2000 at the Riverview Health Centre at the age of 67 years. Jake will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 44 years, Mary; children, Cathy (Larry), Carol (Parker), Linda (Bill), Marilyn (Gord) and Jake (Lisa) nine grandchildren; one brother; five sisters and numerous nieces and nephews. Jake will be affectionately remembered by his grandchildren as "grandpa foxy." He was a determined individual and worked hard. Many friends and family will remember Jake for his warm and friendly nature. Jake enjoyed tending his flowers and vegetable garden. A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 10 in the chapel of Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (across from The Mint) with viewing one half hour prior to the service. Interment Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the Glen Lawn reception centre. Many thanks to the staff at the Victoria General Hospital and to the nurses at the Riverview Health Centre for their care and moral support of Jake. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jakes memory may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba, 100 Olivia St., Winnipeg, MB R3E 9Z9.
