JAMES FRANCIS TURNER After a lengthy illness, Frank passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2000 at the age of 69. Frank was predeceased by his father Cyril in 1981 and mother Clare (Reid) in 1994. Left to mourn his passing are his sister Phyllis and husband Norby Stier of Revelstoke, BC; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and many close friends. Born and raised in Nelson, BC, he graduated from Commerce at the University of British Columbia and joined The Bay in Vancouver. Frank transferred to The Bay in Winnipeg in 1962 and for ten years enjoyed a successful career in management. In 1972 Frank became a partner in Sever Signs of St. Boniface and enjoyed the challenge of creating parade floats and displays for Canada and the U.S. He retired again in 1978 and spent many happy years at his home on Elm Street and at Star Lake. An interested and talented person, Frank inspired others through his interest in community, encouragement and support to education and the world of investments. Special thanks to the staff and volunteers at Central Park Lodge, Poseidon Bay for their continued care and support. It added a great deal to his comfort and happiness. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held at Green Acres Memorial Gardens, Highway No. 1 East on Monday, July 10 at 2:00 p.m. Flowers gratefully declined.
