Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVERA ELEANOR FORD (HILL) March 25, 1921 - July 1, 2000 After a long and hard struggle, Mom died peacefully on Saturday morning in the Rehab Hospital at Health Sciences. Although the last few years were tough for her, Mom never lost her spirit or her ability to find the good in all of us. Vera was predeceased by her husband Ray "Buster" and her twin sister Vivian. She leaves a great legacy; son Ron (Judith) Ford and grandchildren, Jesse and Sarah; son John (Diane) Ford and grandson Nicholas; daughter Janice (Dennis) Dreger and grandsons, Jay, Matt and Cole. Vera is survived by sister Terry (Clarence) Sveinson; brothers, Jack (Ruth) Hill, Doug (Audrey) Hill and brother-in-law Ian Henderson; as well as niece Pam; nephews, Jeff, John, Glenn, Kevin and Brett and their respective partners and children. Vera was born in Winnipeg and except for a few years in Saskatoon and a lot of summers at Falcon Lake, lived here her entire life. She worked many years at Eatons and after retiring, spent considerable time volunteering at hospitals - most notably Health Sciences which enabled her to steer us around during her stays there. Over the years, Mom has maintained ties to the Morse Place Community where she encouraged and enabled us to flourish as we grew. During the last few years and in declining health, Mom continued to aid and guide us - whether we felt we needed it or not (she knew we did). The family wishes to send heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Canvin and the kind staff at RR6. You all made a difficult time as easy as possible for both Mom and us. Thank you. For those family and friends wishing to bid Vera farewell, join us on Monday, July 10 at 2:30 p.m. at the Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway. You will be welcome to share memories of and stories about Vera during this gathering. Cremation has already taken place. In lieu of flowers or donations, please do something nice for someone. "Moishe" would like that. Thomson Funeral Chapels 783-7211.
