BLANCHE BICKERTON Blanche passed away July 6, 2000 at the Health Science Centre at the age of 87. She came to Canada with her parents in 1925 from Bennett, Iowa. They settled in the Rosser District. Blanche attended Little Mountain School for several years then stayed home to help her parents on the farm. She was very active in the Red Cross during the war years. She did volunteer work with Meals on Wheels for five years and worked with the day care children for three years at Quelch School. She was predeceased by her husband Gordon in 1999; her brother Harold in 1943; her mother Anne in 1950 and her father in 1962. She leaves her loving daughter Pearl at home; two nephews Victor and Terry; as well as many cousins. A memorial service will be held Wednesday July 12 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301-352 Donald Street, R3B 2H8. The family would like to thank the staff of GH4, GA4, and the Medical Intensive Care Unit, all of the Health Science Centre, for their help. She was a kind hearted loving mother, all who knew you will miss you. God is with you now Mom. Resting in the arms of God.
