IRENE BERARD (nee ST. GODARD) Peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, July 8, 2000, at the Tache Centre, Irene Berard, passed away at the age of 85 years. She was predeceased by her loving husband Antonio; one infant grandson Roger Berard; her parents, Albert and Marie-Anne St. Godard; five brothers, Arthur, Leo, Fernand, Claude and Roland, and one sister Flore Vandal. She will be sadly missed by her six children, Jeannette (Roland Banville) of Calgary, Aurele (Armande), Gilbert (Cecile), Denis (Sylvia), all of Winnipeg; Leo (Judy) of Cornwall, ON, and Robert (Debbie) of Winnipeg; 18 grandchildren; numerous great and great-great-grandchildren; one sister Alphonsine Vandal; two sisters-in-law, Marguerite and Miriam St. Godard; one brother-in-law Germain Vandal, and numerous other relatives and friends. Formerly of St. Jean-Baptiste, MB, she had resided in Winnipeg since 1957. Irene was an incredibly special person, a loving, devoted and generous wife, mother, grandmother and friend; an accomplished and compassionate nurses assistant at the St. Boniface Hospital, and an active and helpful participant in her many volunteer activities. We were blessed and privileged to have Maman and Memere in our lives and will forever cherish the many wonderful memories we shared. Funeral mass will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 12 at Precieux-Sang Roman Catholic Church, 200 Kenny St. Interment will follow at the Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be held at 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Special thanks to the staff at Tache Centre.
