(IDA) BERNICE HARDIE (nee McALLISTER) 1919 - 2000 Mom passed away suddenly on July 10, 2000. She is survived by her children, Cathy (Dave), Jim (Laurel), David (Linda), and Patti (Damyen) grandchildren, Jesse, Scott, Leigh, Lindsay, Melanie and Jeff; brother Robert (Mavis) McAllister of Abbotsford; sister-in-law Mae (Paul) Nahass of Boston; and many nieces and nephews. Mom will be truly missed by all. Mom was predeceased by her husband, Archie, her mother Cassie, father Reginald, and step-father Bill. Mom grew up in River Heights, attended Kelvin High, then entered the family business while waiting for Archie to return from the Second World War. Once married, they were transferred with London Life to Vancouver where Cathy and Jim were born. Mom and Dad returned to the Riverview area of Winnipeg where their family became complete with the births of David and Patti. Mom was active in the Riverview community, both in the Riverview United Church and hospital guild and as a member of the Fort Rouge Curling Club. Mom always appreciated the many close friends she made within the neighbourhood and at the lake. Many happy years were spent with Dad, our family and many close supportive friends, both while living on Bartlet Avenue and the Keewatin Beach Road. We hope with all our hearts that Mom is now reunited with her beloved Archie whom she missed terribly these last two and a half years. Cremation has taken place according to Moms wishes. A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 13 at 10:00 a.m. at Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway, with reception to follow.
