Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRONALD (RON) KATCHIN Ronald (Ron) Katchin of Winnipeg, passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2000 at the St. Boniface General Hospital, Winnipeg, at the age of 52 years. Ron was born in Russell, on July 24, 1947. He completed his high school education in Russell. Ron then took a course in accounting at Success Commercial College. He married Bernice Tanasychuk in 1974. Ron was employed at Maple Leaf, in the Personnel Department. Ron was predeceased by his wife Bernice on May 15, 2000, father John, April 9, 1996, brother Harvey, March 4, 1983. Ron is survived by his mother Margaret Katchin of Russell; brother Eugene and wife Mary Allen Katchin of Beaverdell, BC; twin sister Shirley and husband Nelson Baranyk and their children, Mike and Shane, all of Brandon; sister-in-law Agnes Katchin of Brandon and her family, Brenda and Clinton Pushka of Angusville, Karen and Greg Cochrane of Silverton, Lisa and Brad Alfredson of Calgary, Glen and Vickie Katchin of Angusville and their families; also surviving are his parents-in-law, Mike and Lena Tanasychuk of Rossburn; brother-in-law Conrad and wife Joanne of Minneapolis; two sisters-in-law, Janet and husband Bob Michalyshyn and their daughters Chelsey of Winnipeg and Elaine and husband Willie Mackle and their children, Kristen, Trisha and Willie of Kelowna, BC. The funeral service was held on Thursday, June 29 at 10:00 a.m. from the Sacred Heart of Jesus Ukrainian Catholic Church (Orthodox Service). Interment followed in the parish cemetery with the Very Rev. Fr. Orest Hudyma, and Rev. Fr. Michael Skrumeda officiating. Pallbearers were Ron Sidoryk, Shane Baranyk, Bob Michalyshyn, Garry Kloon, Perry Kalyniuk, Glen Katchin. Crossbearer was Chelsey Michalyshyn. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to a charity of their choice. Raes Funeral Service of Shoal Lake were in care of the arrangements.
