Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTHEODORE GRAHAM VELLOW Peacefully, at the Grace Hospital on July 8, 2000, Ted passed away at the age of 89. Ted was predeceased by the love of his life, Kay, on October 19, 1999, he missed her very much; also by his parents, sister Myra Tucker, brother Merle, and a sister at childbirth. Ted and Kay spent 31 happy years together, travelling, curling, golfing, lawn bowling and spending time with family and friends. They were called the "Love Birds" and usually seen walking hand in hand. Ted will be remembered by step-daughters, (his "Girls"), Donna Peltier (Tom Zanzow), Carol Hawkins (Brian) grandchildren, Suzanne (Mark) Dilazzaro, Michelle (Dave) Bales, Stephen (Doreen) Peltier, Michael, Lisa, Travis and Cary Hawkins; great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Dane Dilazzaro, Jennifer, Jason Bales, Graham, Matthew Peltier, Krista Stepa. Ted is also survived by sister-in-law Dorothy Langridge (Ken) nieces, Pat Gauthier (Jess), Jeannette (Ken Johnson) also many nieces and nephews. Also Dad and Moms special friend Dawn Nerbas who has been so kind and made them smile. Ted was born January 31, 1911, in Canastota, SD to Jan and Will Vellow. He spent his early life homesteading in Millet, AB, with his parents and grandparents. Ted came to Winnipeg in 1950, working as a manager mechanic, then for General Electric and later transferring to the City of Winnipeg Public Works until his retirement. He was a member of the IOOF and the Rebekah Lodge. He was Past District Deputy and Past Grand of Hiawatha Lodge and Outside Guardian of the Elizabeth Rebekah Lodge. Ted was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Charleswood 100, holding various positions including Sargeant-at-Arms. The family wish to thank the nurses who attended to Dads care during his long hospital stay. Funeral service and reception will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home on Thursday, July 13 at 12:30 p.m. A viewing will be held two hours prior to the service. If friends so desire, donations in Teds memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
