ROBERT ANDREW TESCH It is with great sadness that the family of Robert, aged 68 years, announces his passing on Monday, July 10, 2000. Cherishing his memory are his daughter, two sons, and their families: Douglas and grandchildren, Tracee and Andrew, their mother Renee, Harold and wife Luane and granddaughter Emma-Rose, and Gail Zahayko and their husband Robert and grandchildren Graham, Gregg and Brittany. Also his sisters, Edith Nutt (Ron) of Toronto and Freda Kozak (Wally) of B.C. and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Rose in 1988; his parents William and Margaret; and a sister Rose Ozouf in 1993. Robert was born and raised along the Red River in Lockport. At a very young age Robert left school to work on the family farm and to also uphold a family tradition of commercial fishing. In 1950 Robert started a 35 year career at the Manitoba Rolling Mills in Selkirk. Robert married Rose in 1954 and two years later they started a family of three children. Robert diligently taught his children lifes greatest values and instilled in them the integrity and honesty which directed him all his life. Through the years Robert continued to commercial fish with his dad and good friend Alex Natiuk. Robert loved the times he spent with his father and mother-in-law at Lac Du Bonnet on their farm, where he helped whenever needed. Robert also loved the outdoors especially hunting in the fall with his cousins Harold, Richard and Victor Roberts. Robert was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Selkirk all his life and had served for many years on the church council. Prayers will be said on Friday, July 14 at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 15 at 11:00 a.m. in the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Selkirk, with Pastor Terry Throndson officiating. Interment in the Parish Cemetery. His pallbearers will be his three grandsons, cousin Brian Roberts, Mike Oleksiuk and Brad Kulchyski. The family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to Pastor Terry, Stephen Minister, Mike Oleksiuk and all the friends and relatives for their support and kindness shown to our father. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Selkirk. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
