Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLORRAINE EVELYN LABOSSIERE Lorraine Labossiere, aged 72, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 11, 2000 with family by her side. Lorraine was born in Seattle, WA on December 15, 1927. She was predeceased by her father Joseph Napoleon in 1967; her mother Corona (Cora) Antoinette in 1993 and her close friend Peter Toews in 1998. Lorraine is survived by one sister Della Woody and her husband Howard of Salmon Arm, B.C.; one brother Raymond and Beryl of Morden; three nephew and eight nieces including Mitch and Jayne Madill and Jeff and Susan Romas of Winnipeg, as well as numerous grand nieces and nephews. Lorraine lived in Russell and almost 25 years in Atikokan, Ont. before moving to Winnipeg where she resided at 101 Marion and most recently at 555 Ellice Avenue. In spite of her physical disability, Lorraine always managed to display a tremendous amount of stamina and courage. Nothing could keep her down and her sense of humour was contagious. She brought laughter into every situation and her positive attitude towards life encouraged others. Lorraine was actively involved in P.E.P. (People in Equal Participation) for many years. A special thank you to the staff of 5A Medicine at St. Boniface Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook. A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 14 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel at Glen Lawn Funeral Home (455 Lagimodiere Blvd.) with viewing one half hour prior to service time.
