Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWINSTON JOHN WEIR "SLIM" GRAHAM July 30, 1912 - July 12, 2000 Peacefully, surrounded by family, Winston passed away at the Selkirk General Hospital at the age of 87 years. Winston is survived by his wife of 22 years, Mildred; daughter Leona (Barry) Malcolm, Beausejour, MB, grandchildren, Terri-Lynne (Terry) Loeb, Debbie Malcolm, Michael (Robin) Malcolm; son Donald, Red Lake, Ont., grandchildren, Marnie, Steven, Elizabeth, Jeremy, and John; stepdaughter Sheila (Les) Haggerty, Edmonton, AB, grandchildren, Erin and Graeme; stepson Don (Teresa) Wilks, Toronto, Ont., grandchildren, Jessica, Frank and Kevin; brother Gilbert (Peg) Graham, Roland, MB, nephew John and niece Judy. Winston was predeceased by his first wife Jean; daughter Patricia Amber in infancy; parents, Percy and Susan; and sisters, Margaret and Merle. Winston was an aviation pioneer starting a 41 year career in 1935, retiring 24 years ago from Transport Canada, Airworthiness Division. Winston was a perfectionist, never put off till tomorrow what you can do today. He enjoyed life, until ill health prevented his enjoyment of yard and garden work, fishing and hunting with the guys. The family are grateful for the compassionate nursing care given to Winston and thank the staff at Selkirk Medical #26 and 30, Selkirk Ambulance for the many trips over the last six years. Thanks also to Eleanora, Lorraine and Evadna of Selkirk Home Care. You are all special people. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 17 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sobering Funeral Chapel, Park Avenue East, Beausejour. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to Western Canada Aviation Museum, 958 Ferry Rd., Winnipeg, MB R3H 0Y8, or a charity of your choice.
