LILLIAN LEONA SASNELLA Peacefully, on July 12, 2000 at the Eriksdale Personal Care Home, Lillian Leona Sasnella, aged 88 years of Steep Rock, Man. Lillian was born June 16, 1912 at Morris, Man. She lived for years in Gypsumville moving to Steep Rock where she resided until her passing. Lillian was involved in the life and work of her church and community in the UCW, mission bands, Sunday school, community club, and seniors group. A loving, caring and devoted woman to her family, friends and all who came to know her. Rising early in the morning to sing and work in her garden gave Lillian a start to her every day. For those who knew Lillian will always remember and treasure her smile that warmed your heart as well as the coffee and goodies that awaited you in her home, any time and any day. Lillian is survived by one daughter Marjorie and husband Eric Nielsen; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Michael in 1986; a grandson in 1959; brothers, Nick and George; sisters, Pauline, Christine and Annie. A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 17 at 2:00 p.m. in the Steep Rock community hall with student minister Melanie Kauppila officiating. Interment to follow in the Faulkner Cemetery. All in attendance can consider themselves honorary pallbearers. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Steep Rock United Church in care of Sheila Shiells, Steep Rock, Man., R0C 2Y0.
