LENA JACKSON (nee ADAMS) On Sunday, July 9, 2000, Lena Jackson died peacefully at home, surrounded by her family. Lena Mary Adams, daughter of Mary Jane Gaston and John Adams, was born on July 7, 1901 in Poplar Point, Manitoba. In 1912 the family moved to the Kelvin district in rural Portage la Prairie where she later farmed with her husband, Henry Jackson. Before and after her marriage in 1938 she taught in many rural and small town schools in Manitoba. Scores of former pupils have fond memories of their days in Miss Adams or Mrs. Jacksons classes. Predeceased by her husband Henry in 1990; brothers, Norman, Dick, John, George and sister Mabel, Lena will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Eleanor; sisters, Clara Foulds, Susie Jackson and many nieces and nephews; grandchildren, Bradley Lelliott, Nancy Lelliott, Carin Baigrie (Todd) great-granddaughters, Brianne, Carlee, Riley and soon to be born, Tyler Scott Jackson Baigrie. Our family extends heartfelt gratitude to Kim and Leanne for their compassionate care and support. Cremation has taken place. There will be a memorial service on Thursday, July 20 at 7:00 p.m. at McKenzies Funeral Chapel in Portage la Prairie. In memory of Lena Jacksons love for her flowers, a simple arrangement of garden or wild flowers would be welcomed at the chapel earlier in the day or at the time of the service. They will later be given to seniors in hospital or nursing homes. WOJCIKS FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM 897 - 4665
