KARL HARALDUR EYOLFSON It is with sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Karl on July 9, 2000 at his home in Geysir, Man. Karl was born November 12, 1926 in Geysir, where he lived with his parents, Sveinn and Steina on the farm. He attended Geysir school and later worked on the family farm. They moved to Arborg for a few years after retiring, and until his fathers death. In 1965 Karl and his mother moved to his farm where he spent many happy years. Karl was a very quiet and private man, finding solace when working with wood in his workshop. Many friends and relatives have been recipients of his creations. He could be seen coming to town on his trusty tractor to do business and meet with friends for coffee. Karl was predeceased by his father Sveinn in 1965; brother-in-law John (Gudrun) in 1973; mother Steina in 1974; brother Steini in 1990 and sister-in-law (Steve) Una in 1994. He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Thoranna (George) Kerr of Winnipeg, Eyolfur (Loa) of Gimli, Stefan of Winnipeg, Gudrun Sigurdson of Arborg, Loreen (Ross) Ingroville of Sask. and sister-in-law Solla of Arborg; as well as many nephews and nieces. He also will be sadly missed by his friends at Riverdale Place. The family wishes to thank everyone from Riverdale Place for all their kindness towards Karl. Cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held on Monday, July 17 at 2:00 p.m. at the Geysir Cemetery. The family invites everyone attending to join them for coffee at the Geysir Hall following the service. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to do so, may make a donation in Karls memory to Riverdale Place or a charity of your choice. Arborg (MacKenzie) Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
