GEORGE KENNETH MARTIN After a lengthy illness our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away at Deer Lodge Centre on Wednesday, July 12, 2000. George was born April 10, 1915 in Portland, Ore. and came to Canada as a young man to join the Canadian Air Force during the Second World War. George worked at Western Canada Motors, which eventually evolved into what is now McNaught Pontiac Buick. He retired in 1983. He was a lover of the outdoors and all animals and got great delight from his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. George leaves to mourn his passing, his beloved wife of 52 years, Esther; and his children, daughter Dale (Robert) sons, Ken (Kris) and Barry (Debbie) daughter Kathy (Sam) grandchildren, Erynne Loewen, Cherise Mitchell, Jodie Lambert, Pam Martin, Tanis, Tracy and Nicole Martin, Keith and Jennifer Watson; great-granddaughters, Chelsea Loewen, Kassidy and Siera Martin. Funeral service will be held on Monday, July 17 at 2:00 p.m. at Kildonan Community Church, 2373 Main St. Interment will follow at the Old Kildonan Cemetery. The family would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff on 4W at Deer Lodge Centre for their kind and loving care and Dr. Anna Rothova for her compassionate care and understanding over the years.
