CLARICE MARION PILKINGTON (nee KANE) Clarice Pilkington of Portage la Prairie and formerly of Bagot, passed away peacefully with her family at her side at Lions Prairie Manor on Thursday, July 13 at the age of 82 years. Predeceased by her husband William in 1998 and infant daughter Shirley in 1952, Clarice will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her children, Gordon (Pat) of Portage, Lynn Ross (Willie Bilawchuk) of Winnipeg, Connie (Paul) Brown of Wellington, Nova Scotia, Wilfred (Carol) of Portage and her 20 grandchildren and her 12 great-grandchildren. Memorial service to celebrate the life of Clarice will be held on Tuesday, July 18 at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity United Church with Wilma Sherriff officiating. The family considers all in attendance as honorary pallbearers. As expressions of sympathy, if friends so wish, donations may be made in Clarices memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in care of Catherine Newham Portage Office, 103 Wilkinson Crescent, Portage la Prairie, MB, R1N 1A7 or the Diabetes Foundation, 102 - 310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 0S6 or the Lions Prairie Manor Foundation Inc., 24 - 9th Street N.E., Portage la Prairie, MB, R1N 3V4. A tree will be planted and cared for in memory of Clarice at Evergreen Memorial Gardens by McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel who are entrusted with the arrangements.
