DONALD GRANT MCLELLAN Peacefully, after a short and courageous battle with cancer, Don McLellan passed away at the Grace General Hospital on Friday, July 14, 2000. Don will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Evelyn, daughter Linda (Robert), son David (Beverley) and grandchildren, Heather and David Flood, Meghan and Ashleigh McLellan. Don is also survived by his mother-in-law, Sarah Reilly of Neepawa, Manitoba; brothers Gordon, Neil, Jackie and sister Louise of Los Angeles California, and numerous nephews and nieces and their families. Don was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Minnie, brothers Jack and Buster and sisters, Doreen, Mabel, Jean and Phyllis and father-in-law, George Reilly. Don was born in Winnipeg in 1925 and raised in the Wolseley area of Winnipeg. In 1942 Don went to work for the Manitoba Power Commission (Manitoba Hydro). He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy in 1943 and participated in the D-Day invasion of France. In 1946 Don returned to work at the Manitoba Power Commission where he met his wife to be, Evelyn. They were married September 14, 1946. Don and Ev, raised two children, Linda and David. For three years they lived in the USA (Los Angeles and Dallas) and in 1956 they returned to Winnipeg, where Don was employed with Trans Canada Airlines (Air Canada) for the next 23 years. Don and Ev spent the majority of their retirement years on their acreage outside of Teulon. Don served with the Teulon Volunteer Ambulance Service. Don and Ev moved to Winnipeg in 1997 and have been residing in St. James. Don will always be remembered for his love of the outdoors and the time he spent fishing and hunting with family and friends. Dons family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of the fourth floor Palliative Care at the Grace Hospital for all the compassion and caring they gave Don during his stay with them. He always spoke kindly of the nurses, and their assistants, and was very appreciative of all the care they gave him. At Dons request, no service will be held. Cremation has taken place and at Dons request his ashes will be interred in the Reilly plot in the Neepawa Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined.
