BARKER It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Elizabeth Barker, on Saturday, July 15, 2000, at Treherne Personal Care Home. She was predeceased by her husband Russell and oldest son Kenneth; brother John and sister Jessie and sister-in-law Edith. She is survived by a brother George and sister Alice (Gilbert) Wilton; daughter-in-law Violet; sons, Gordon (Mildred), Allan (Rita) and Edward (Maureen) along with 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was born on January 16, 1907, in the Skalholt District near Glenboro and went to Waverley and Fairvalley Schools. She married Russell Barker on June 1, 1926, where they farmed in the Glenboro area for many years before moving to Oak Lake, Man. They spent most of their retirement years at Glenboro. Ella was a member of the Patricia Ladies Aid. She loved her garden, especially her flowers. Her roses were her pride and joy. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 18, at 2:00 p.m. at the Glenboro United Church. Pallbearers are Cecil Calverley, Howard Barker, Jim Abernethy, Warren Wotton, Dwayne Heinrichs, Sherman Leader. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Glenboro United Church Memorial Fund or a charity of ones choice. Many thanks to the nurses and staff at Tiger Hills Personal Care Home Treherne for their kindness and dedicated care. Jamieson Funeral Service, Glenboro in charge of arrangements.
