ARTHUR ROBERT KELLY Arthur Robert Kelly of 9 East Gore St., Stratford, Ont., died Friday, July 14, 2000, at his home with his devoted wife and soulmate Lynda at his side. Born April 3, 1946, in Winnipeg, son of the late Peebles and Jessie Kelly, Arthur attended Assiniboine School, St. James Collegiate and United College. Prior to moving to Stratford in 1983, Art was employed at the Manitoba Youth Centre. In Stratford Art operated a Group Home for boys and was an owner of Festival City Cabs. Since 1991 he was employed as a corrections officer at the Stratford Jail. He was a member of the Army, Navy, and Airforce, Club Unit 261, Stratford and thoroughly enjoyed his time spent around the pool table with his many friends. Whether golfing, travelling, playing cards or a game of scrabble, his wonderful sense of humour endeared him to all. He is greatly missed by his cherished wife Lynda and her sons, Dale, Todd and Paul Smith and their families and his mother-in-law Grace Cummings. Also surviving are his sisters, Roslyn Beswick of Costa Rica, Jocelyn Gorrie of Victoria, Marilyn Kelly of Winnipeg; his brother Bill of Chicago and his uncle Bill Kelly of Lewes, England and their families. A memorial service will be held at the Army, Navy, and Airforce, Unit 261, 33 Brunswick St., Stratford, Ont., on Tuesday, July 18, at 2:00 p.m. Padre Michael Griffin, longtime friend of Art, will officiate. Cremation will take place. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Liver Foundation and in lieu of flowers donations would be appreciated to the Humane Society. W.G.
