JAN WROBEL With deep sorrow the family announces the passing of Jan Wrobel, age 83 years, beloved husband of Genowefa Wrobel, on July 15, 2000, at the Seven Oaks Hospital after a lengthy illness. Jan was born in Poland December 12, 1916 and came to Canada in 1949 through Germany, arriving in Emerson, Man. and worked on the farm there. Jan married Genowefa Prochor in 1959 and they were married 41 years at the time of his demise. From Emerson, Jan came to Winnipeg and found work in the Canadian Pacific Railways until he retired in 1975. He was a member of Holy Ghost Parish. Besides his loving wife Genowefa, Jan is survived by his nephew Tadeusz Kawala and family in Poland. Jan was predeceased by his mother, sister and brother who were killed in the Concentration Camp in Germany. The family wish to thank Emergency, ambulance and the staff of Seven Oaks General Hospital for all their care and kindness. Prayers will be said on Tuesday (tonight), July 18 at 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street at Luxton Avenue. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 19 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Ave., with an Oblate Father officiating.
