OMER DEMERS Peacefully, surrounded by his family, Omer Demers passed away at the age of 85 on Saturday, July 15, 2000 at Ste. Anne Hospital after a brief struggle with cancer. He will be greatly missed by his beloved wife of 54 years, Rolande (nee Barrette) and his three children, Donald (Andree Chenier Demers), Linda Friesen and Gilbert (Annette Bouchard) three grandchildren, Vanessa Friesen (Marc Noel), Evan Friesen and Gabriel Chenier Demers; his nephew Gordon Demers (Linda) and grandnephew Todd; also, his adopted family Gisele Ritchot (Bryan), Daniel Ritchot (Gilberte) and Lise Normandeau (Donald) and two great-grandchildren, Alex and Brianna. He was predeceased by his parents, Leonidas Demers and Clarisse (nee Bernier) sister Zelire; brother Rene and wife Alma (nee Schmall), son Paul and son-in-law Henry Friesen. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 19 at 7:00 p.m at Ste. Anne Roman Catholic Church with viewing one-half hour prior to service. Interment to follow at church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate that donations be made to the Ste. Anne Hospital Fund, Ste. Anne Hospital, Ste. Anne, MB R5H 1C4. LECLAIRE BROTHERS in care of arrangements; 775-2220.
