RICHARD G. (DICK) SOBEY On July 16, 2000 at St. Boniface Hospital, Dick Sobey passed away at the age of 82 years. Dick leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 49 years, Isabel; son Dick (Nancy) daughter Eleanor (Keith) Pearce; grandchildren, Melissa and Amanda Sobey, Ashley and Kyle Pearce; brothers, John and Tom; sister Gladys Hammond; sister-in-law Anne Bench; brother-in-law Richard Janusz, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends. Dick worked for Burns & Co. for 28 years taking time out for five years for active duty in the Royal Canadian Navy. After Burns & Co. he went into business for himself taking over Armstrong Commission until his retirement. Dick was known for his firm handshake and his many business associates became his lifelong friends. The family wishes to express their thanks to Doctors, Warrian, Kramer and Bell and the staff in S.I.C.U. at St. Boniface Hospital. At Dicks request cremation has taken place and there will be no service. Flowers are gratefully declined, those wishing to do so may make a donation in Dicks memory to the charity of their choice.
