Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDAVID JEFF NICKLIN 1944 - 2000 Jeff Nicklin of Comox, BC, loving husband and father, died on June 27, 2000 as a result of injuries suffered in a tragic car accident near Superior, Montana. He is survived by his wife Kathy; his son Brant and his fiancee Kelly Podgorak; his daughter Lisa and fiancee Travis Rogers; his mother Eileen Eadie; stepfather Fraser Eadie; and his granddaughter Rease Katherine Nicklin. After spending many years with the Toronto Dominion Bank in various communities across Canada, Jeff went into private practice as a small business consultant where he applied his knowledge for the betterment of small businesses in financial crisis. Jeff will be remembered best for his commitment to his children. He loved supporting, watching, and cheering on his children in their many endeavours. Whether in the hockey arena, on the field hockey pitch, the baseball diamond, in the swimming pool or the dance recital hall Jeff could be counted on to support Brant and Lisa. Jeff was an active member of the Comox Valley Minor Hockey Association and the Courtenay Baseball Association. As observed by John Gilbert of the Up North Newspaper, "Jeff became a surrogate father to everybody and his magnetic personality endeared him to all." Jeff, a Paul Harris Fellow, was also an active and valued member of the Courtenay Rotary Club. He was also active in faith as a member of the Courtenay Fellowship Baptist Church. For those wishing, donations in Jeffs memory to the Rotary International Foundation, care of the Courtenay Rotary Club, P.O. Box 3338, Courtenay, BC, V9N 5N8, or the Courtenay Fellowship Baptist Church Keyboard Fund, 2983 Lake Trail Rd., Courtenay, BC, V9N 5M8, would be appreciated. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 21 at the Courtenay Fellowship Baptist Church followed by interment at the Courtenay (Mission Hill) Cemetery. A celebration of Jeffs life will follow in "The Garden Room and Outdoor Patio" of COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 1101 RYAN RD., Courtenay, BC; 1-250-334-0707. But those who wait on the Lord will find new strength. They will fly high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31
