ALLAN BERTHOLD OMAN April 12, 1931 - July 14, 2000 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Allan Oman. He passed away in his sleep on July 14, 2000. Al is survived by son Karl (Audrey), daughter Helen (Darren), daughter Linda (Glen), daughter Tina (Michael), son Bert (Norma), stepson Philip (Ivana), friend and former wife Shirley Smith. Al also leaves to mourn numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Al was predeceased by his father Berthold, mother Ellen and sister Leila. Al worked hard all of his life. Driving was his passion; he drove for many different companies over the years. Finding employment with General Electric, Al settled in for 13 years of service. He retired on April 1, 1996 at the age of 65. Al lived out his retirement at the Fred Tipping Place where he enjoyed the companionship of many friends, his "coffee buddies" will miss his gentle, easy ways. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 20, at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (Across from the Royal Canadian Mint).
