ALPHONSE BRUNEL Beloved husband of Cecile, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 19, 2000, in the Victoria General Hospital at the age of 90 years. He was predeceased by, his daughter, Denise Kosman in 1989 and by his son, Gilles in 1993. Alphonse is survived by his loving family, sons, Ray (Phyllis), Guy (Lori) daughter Florence (Barry) Tinkler; son-in-law Alex (Valerie) Kosman; grandchildren, Todd, Dawn-Marie, Jodi-Rae (Corey), Jennifer, Kerrie, Deanne, Melanie (Jeremy), Jeremy (Jodi), Daniel, Carley, Bailey and Brooklyn, Tyler, Joshua and Kyle, who will miss their special grandpa; sister Leonie (Art) Hopfner; brother Jean-Louis (Gerry) Brunel; sisters-in-law, Germaine (Hector) Montsion and Therese Gelinas and by many nieces and nephews. Alphonse and Cecile, his wife of 56 years, raised their family in St. Germain where Brunels Place served the local community. Mom and Dad retired in 1978 and moved to their present home, which became the centre of family gatherings. All of us came to appreciate Dads humour and generosity. Alphonse loved nature and took great delight spending time in his garden. He shared his harvest with everyone. We all feel blessed that our Dad had 90 years of good health. He found great pleasure volunteering at Nova Vista Lodge and was an active member of the Knights of Columbus at the time of his passing. The family would like to extend a Special Thanks to the Nursing Staff at Victoria General Hospital for their loving care; and also to Kevin from Home Care. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, July 22 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Timothys Roman Catholic Church, 135 John Forsyth Rd. with Rev. Fr. Paul Campeau presiding. Viewing will commence at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place in Green Acres Memorial Gardens.
