Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM JOSEPH (BILL) SENKOW Our father and grandfather, Bill, passed away peacefully the afternoon of Wednesday, July 19, 2000 at the St. Boniface Hospital following a brief illness. Bill was born March 8, 1926 in Winnipeg and spent his boyhood in Winnipeg and St. Andrews. On April 7, 1949 he married Muriel Eames. Together they raised a family of six children, first in Selkirk, and then in Grand Rapids, Manitoba. Bill was predeceased by his beloved wife, Muriel on September 29, 1998. Recently Dad had moved back to Selkirk. Sales was a large part of Bills life. He sold bread for Brownss Bread for many years and then produce for Midland Fruit throughout Manitoba and North Western Ontario. In 1967 Bill went into the restaurant business in Grand Rapids. At this time he became involved in hauling mail between Grand Rapids and Easterville which continued until this past February. For a time Bill was involved with the Local Government of Grand Rapids and served on council and as mayor. Bill will be missed by his family and friends. He leaves many memories with his children, daughters, Eileen Morran and fiance Jim Finucane of Flin Flon, Deann and Jeff Lane and sons Greg and Michael of Selkirk, sons David and Barb and children Jennifer and Matthew of Regina, Bob and Sandra of Lockport, Don and Tammy and children Krista and Donald of St. Andrews, Fred and Shelley and son Gareth of Seven Sisters; sister-in-law Diane Senkow of Fisher Branch; brother-in-law Howard (Alice) Eames; sisters-in-law, Margaret Russell, Sadie (Art) Grossi, all of Victoria, BC; sister-in-law Kaye Eames of Selkirk; long time family friend Sarah Pruden; special friend Rose Franklin; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Bill was predeceased by his brother Ed Senkow; son-in-law Lawrence Morran; and brother-in-law, Albert Eames. A memorial service will be held at the Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, on Monday, July 24 at 7:00 p.m. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will be held prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bill can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 102-310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6 or to the Humane Society, 5 Kent Rd, Winnipeg, R2L 1X3. The family would like to thank the staff on A7 for the care given their father and grandfather. We also would like to extend our appreciation to the staff at Park View Manor for the care and compassion shown during his residence there. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements.
