AMANDA GRANT Born Marie Alice Amanda Lavoie, March, 21, 1917, St. Eustache, MB, daughter of Ulderic and Blanche (Lacroix) Lavoie. Amanda lived and worked in Flin Flon and The Pas, MB before moving to Ocean Falls, BC, where she married Francis Nelson Grant (also of Manitoba), December 26, 1942 and where they raised four children. Following Franks death, March 5, 1970, Amanda moved to New Westminster and worked for Social Services for many years before and during retirement, and until her recent death, Amanda proudly and actively supported the Royal Canadian Legion and St. Peters Parish. After a brief and valiant battle with cancer, Amanda died peacefully at St. Marys Hospital, May 5, 2000. She will be sadly missed by her children, Rene (Margaret) of McKenzie, BC, Norman (Brigid) of Campbell River, BC, Anita (Gordon) of Whitehorse, YT, Daniel (Beth) of Sydney, Australia; brothers and sisters, all of Manitoba, Alma, Alphonse (Rachel), Bertha (Martin), Geordie (Rita), Ernie (Elaine) 12 grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends in Manitoba and British Columbia.
