ALICE AIKMAN With profound sadness we announce the passing of a very special wife, godmother, and friend, Alice Aikman, on July 19, 2000. Alice was born in Winnipeg, July 10, 1917 to Dr. John and Mary McEachern. She was very adventurous and had a real zest for life. She had a love for books and the news, was a compassionate friend and had a wonderful sense of humour right up until the end. After graduating from the U. of M., she worked as a journalist at the Winnipeg Tribune for more than ten years. In 1943 she married her beloved Gordon - her soulmate and best friend. They had a full life together sharing a love of music, travel, animals, sports cars, trying new things, and most of all a deep love for each other. She will be forever missed and mourned by Gordon. Mary, Katie, and Frank Chalmers, Allison (Rich) Chalmers-Justl, Alexa and Mitch thank Alice for being a cherished part of their extended family. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Childrens Hospital Foundation. Special thanks go to the caring staff at the Victoria General Hospital. A celebration of Alices life will take place 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 26 at 1803 Assiniboine Ave., phone 831-7504. "Gordon, Ill save the first dance for you." - Alice
