Born in Winnipeg on June 13, 1935, Deedo attended Kelvin High School and graduated with a Bachelor of Interior Design from the University of Manitoba. Deedos life was full of many interests and talents. She was an accomplished designer, horseback rider, swimmer, oil painter, woodworker, sailboarder, skiier, badminton and tennis player, photographer/videographer. Her other interests included dragon boat racing, camping, picnicking, partying, travelling, fishing, languages and parasailing. She was resourceful, had a zest for life and achieved everything she attempted. She would--and did--try anything. With each interest grew a large community of friends. She won the hearts of many people with her vibrant personality, boundless energy and sense of adventure. She was a free spirit. Lake of the Woods and Oaxaca, Mexico were home to Deedo in the past few years, a reflection of her desire and ability to celebrate the best of life. Cremation has taken place and there will be a service on Tuesday, July 25 at 11:00 a.m. in Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway with Rose Ferries officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to Cancer Care Manitoba, the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Endowment Fund or the Sunshine Fund would be greatly appreciated. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the doctors and staff, of the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Unit, for the care given to Deedo during her time there.
