LYNDA WALTER On July 22, 2000, at St. Boniface Hospital, after a long and determined battle against Crohns Disease and, ultimately, cancer, a precious light was taken from us all. Lynda was born on July 17, 1953, and is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Michael; by her children, Rebecca and Graham; her parents Elvis and Ruth Mullin of Cartwright, Man., and by her seven brothers and sisters, Gordon (Shirley), Boyd (Sherry), Murray (Lisa), Dan (Colleen), Gwen (Ed), Laurie (Phil), Pat (Al) her sister-in-law Barbara Walter and mother-in-law Erika Walter; and many cousins and nephews and nieces and aunts and uncles. Lynda grew up in Southwestern Manitoba in the Cartwright/Mather area and attended school at Cartwright and Killarney. For the past 23 years she had been employed at the Health Sciences Centre as a Labour Relations Officer. Lynda had many interests, but the driving force in her life was always her family. She was a kind, gentle, considerate mother and wife who will be deeply missed. Those who worked with her over the years were always warmed by her soft approach, her conciliatory manner, her considerate ways and her ability to make people feel good about themselves. The family wishes to thank all of Lyndas friends for their support at this most terrible time and extends a special "hug" to our friend Sandy Kellas for being the person that she is. Lynda has been truly blessed with the friends she has found. We wish to thank Dr. Andrew Maksimiuk for the kind, caring man that he is and for helping us through this terrible struggle. We specially wish to thank the nursing staff at B5 for their caring, their encouragement and their dedication. You will be in our hearts always. Lyndas funeral will be at Westminster United Church on Wednesday, July 26, at 11:00 a.m. A brief reception will follow. Burial and graveside ceremony will take place at the Mather Cemetery at Mather, Man., approximately 4:00 p.m. In keeping with Lyndas request, we would ask that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made in Lyndas memory to: Crohns and Colitis Foundation of Canada 301 - 21 St. Clair Ave. E. Toronto, Ont., M4T 1L9 Well love you forever.... NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
