MR. BERTRAND J. BROWN

BROWN 1905 - 2000 After a courageous battle with cancer on July 24th, 2000 at the Misericordia Health Centre Mr. Brown was predeceased by his beloved wife of 66 years, Eileen, in January, 1996. He is survived by his two daughters, Shirley Muir (Al) and Gayle Wharton (Mike) his sister Eunice; six grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Mr. Brown was born and raised in Boissevain, Manitoba. He moved to Winnipeg in 1925 at the age of 20, and enrolled in Hemphills Barber College where he studied barbering and ladies hairstyling. Mr. Brown owned and operated Browns Barbers and Hairstylists until his retirement in 1973. Bert was a past President of the Master Barber Association, Honourary Life Member of the Capitol Lodge A.F. & A.M., Honourary Life member of the Scottish Right of Free Masonry, as well as an Honourary Life member and Past President of the Khartum Temple Shriners Drum and Bugle Corps. His hobbies included his love of music, hunting and golf. He was a member of the Assiniboine Gold Club for many years. Shirley and Gayle would like to extend a special thank you to George Robertson, Poppas good friend for many years, as well as Dr. Lorie Ebbeling, and the staff at Misericordia, 6th Cornish for their caring and kindness. Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, July 27 at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave., Aubrey St. entrance. Flowers are gratefully declined, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice. Rest in peace Poppa, we will forever remember you. NEIL BARDAL INC 949-2200
