He will be sadly missed by numerous friends, both lifelong and casual, because of his affectionate personality and overwhelming generosity. He received his M.D. degree from the University of Manitoba in 1958. He excelled as a pathologist, specializing at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota from 1963 to 1965 in neuropathology, hepatology, skin pathology, cytopathology, and always keeping up with the clinical aspects of medicine. He was the consultant pathologist and laboratory director for the Lake of the Woods District Hospital and the North Western Ontario Region from 1965 to the present. He was a member of The Canadian Medical Association, Ontario Medical Association, Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, American College of Pathology, Mayo Clinic Alumni Association, Mayo Clinic Society, Life member of the University of Manitoba Alumni. From his youth he excelled in sports such as the high jump, pole vault, single and double bars, long distance running, goal keeper in soccer, high dive, competitive swimming in Diocesan Boys School in Hong Kong, prior to coming to Canada with his brother in 1951. His love for squash was extremely well known, serving as President of the squash club in Kenora in 2000. He was there not only as a player and administrator, but also as chief bottle-washer! He excelled in music, having won many awards in violin in the Hong Kong Music Festival. He also played first violin in the Hong Kong Symphony Orchestra and the Rochester Symphony Orchestra. He astonished many by his talent in making music with the "common saw". He loved classical and jazz music and had a wide repertoire from Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Mendelssohn, to Oscar Petterson, Duke Ellington, Dave Brubeck and many others. Music played a very important part in his life. His love for nature was on-going, with particular affection for the Lake of the Woods, the sound of the loon and the rustle of the pines; the excitement of catching Muskie at Minaki, or Salmon in Campbell River, B.C. He had a love of cooking, barbecuing with his special seasoned salt, and making Chinese dishes such as famous pepper shrimps while entertaining guests at the Ho Ho Restaurant in Kenora. He loved God and the Church, and was confirmed into the Anglican Church by Bishop R. O. Hall of Hong Kong in 1948, a beloved friend of the family. He served as a member of the Vestry for 28 years and Deans Warden for two terms at the St. Albans Cathedral in Kenora, and was also an Elder at the Chinese United Church in Winnipeg. His love for his family was most overwhelming, keeping in touch with them daily by his cell phone. He loved to boast of his wifes baking; his childrens and grandchildrens accomplishments. His love of Kenora, the Rotary Club and many community activities and contributions will never be forgotten. His love for adventure can often be daunting to the timid, the latest deep sea scuba diving. He was hoping one day to climb a portion of Mt. Everest. Peter left us suddenly into the arms of Jesus, joining the saints and his parents. His spirit is with us and will forever be with us, until we meet again. At Peters request cremation has taken place. A memorial celebration will be held on Friday, July 28, 10:30 a.m. at St. Albans Cathedral - Kenora, with the Very Reverend Dean W. G. Dobinson officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lake of the Woods District Hospital Foundation or Rotary International would be appreciated. Brown Funeral Home, Kenora, in charge of arrangements. "Gods ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts than our thoughts" "Lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world"
