Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDITH CAROLINA TAYLOR (nee OGREN) With deep sorrow, we announce the peacefully passing of Edith Taylor at Park Manor Personal Care Home, with her family at her side, on July 22, 2000 at the age of 83. Edith, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother succumbed to her long and courageous struggle with Alzheimers Disease. Edith was born March 4, 1917 in Fannystelle, MB to Kristine and Harold Agren. At the age of 12 she became a mother to her younger siblings when her mother died in a tragic farming accident. The following year, they moved off the farm in Elm Creek to Winnipeg. Edith and Lawrence resided in Elmwood most of their married life, before retiring to a "Hobby Farm", a few miles from their favourite spot at Lundar Beach. Edith will be sadly missed by her children, Marlene (Bob) Swan of Lundar, Carol (Ken) Hinther, Sheila (Bob) Webb, and daughter-in-law Barb Taylor, all of Winnipeg; nine grandchildren, Lorena (Randy) Rychliski, Robert (Lisa) Swan, Corrine (Dustin) Lane, Michelle and Kendra Hinther, Natalie, Ronald Kostiuk, Stephanie and Kevin Taylor; two great-grandchildren Derek Rychliski and Reanna Swan. She also leaves to mourn several sisters and brothers-in-law. Edith was predeceased by her husband of fifty years Lawrence in 1990, and a son Gordon in 1994. A Memorial Service will be held at Park Manor Personal Care Home, 301 Redonda St., Transcona at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 27, 2000. A graveside funeral service will be held at the Lily Bay Cemetery at the corner of PTH #419 and #418 at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, July 28, 2000 with Student Minister Melanie Kauppila officiating. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimers Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2.
