GERALDINE BROWN (nee McMICHAEL) On July 24, 2000, while surrounded by friends and family, Geraldine Brown died peacefully. Geraldine is survived by her three children, Trevor Michael, Sean Patrick and Colleen Margaret who will greatly miss her love and support. Besides her children, Gerry was loved and will be remembered by the Dryden, Fraser and Brown families; many close friends and her dear friend Ada Allen. Gerry is predeceased by her husband James Bruce and parents Margaret and Denis McMichael. Gerry was born and raised in Winnipeg and attended United College where she received her B.A. She received a teaching certificate from the University of Manitoba and went on to teach English at Miles Macdonell. After teaching for several years, Gerry made a career change to raise a family. In addition to sharing Victoria Beach with friends and family, Gerry enjoyed the camaraderie of her Bridge club and theatre group, and still found time to volunteer for several organizations. She exuded life and brought brightness into the lives of everyone. A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 28 at 1:00 p.m. at Norwood United Church, St. Marys Rd. and Tache Ave. with Rose Ferries officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined. Should friends so desire, donations in Geraldines memory can be made to the Manitoba Cancer Treatment and Research Foundation, 100 Olivia Street, Winnipeg, R3E 9Z9, or a charity of your choice. As an only child, Geraldine always valued family as the foundation of happiness. We will all miss her terribly, friends and family alike.
