HELEN F. ERICKSON Peacefully on Sunday, July 23, 2000, Helen passed away at the Concordia Hospital at the age of 63 years. Helen was born in Eriksdale, MB on April 11, 1937. She was employed by Sears Canada for 15 years. She enjoyed many years of curling at the Victoria Ladies Curling Club, where she was President from 1975 to 1976 and Past-president from 1976 to 1977. She enjoyed many family vacation camping trips in her leisure time, she enjoyed trips to Las Vegas and Club Regent with family and friends. She also volunteered her time to many charitable organizations, such as the Cancer Society and the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation. She leaves to mourn her husband William of 42 years; son Bill (Karen) daughters, Shannon, Lynne (Scott) son Steven (Tracy) her grandchildren, Matthew, Alex and Kailee; her mother Sofie; sister Louise (Bill) brother Marvin (Ethel) sister Jean (Bill) brother Bruce (Iris) and many nieces and nephews, friends and co-workers from Sears. She was predeceased by her father Dan Desjarlais in March of 1995. A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 28 at 1:00 p.m. in the Lundar Lutheran Church with Pastor Ingthor Isfeld officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Manitoba, 200-55 Donald St., Winnipeg or to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg. The family wishes to thank Sheila for the wonderful care, also to nurses and staff at St. Boniface Dialysis Unit and nurses and staff on N-3 at Concordia Hospital who gave special care to Mom during her time of need.
