Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHANNA ALIDA SCHILLING May 25, 1936 - July 26, 2000 Peacefully at her home, on July 26, 2000 at the age of 64 years, Johanna passed on to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, whom she longed to meet. She was predeceased by her mother and father; one brother and by one sister. Johanna leaves to mourn her passing; her sisters, Riet and husband Ruud Boon of Holland and Wil Faber of South Africa; her twin brother Arie Schilling of Holland and by her nieces, nephews and many dear friends. She was born in Semarang, Indonesia. Her whole family was interned in a Japanese Concentration Camp during the Second World War, until 1946 when they returned to Holland. In 1960 Johanna immigrated to Canada. She was employed as a Laboratory technician at the Health Sciences Centre, until health problems persuaded her into early retirement. Johanna was a faithful and devoted member of Covenant Christian Reformed Church. Her favourite Psalm was Psalm 27 - "The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?..." The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 1 at 10:00 a.m. in Covenant Christian Reformed Church, 653 Knowles Avenue. Viewing will take place on Monday, July 31 at 7:30 p.m. from Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy. #1 East at Green Acres Lane. Interment will take place in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Johannas memory to Union Gospel Mission, 320 Princess Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3B 3C7. GREEN ACRES FUNERAL CHAPEL 222-3241
