JOHN GEORGE SCHROEDER On Saturday, July 29, 2000, John George Schroeder, of Portage la Prairie, passed away at home, aged 81 years. Prayers will be held in the Chapel of Omega Funeral Home, Portage la Prairie, on Wednesday, August 2 at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Johns Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, August 3 at 10:30 a.m. A private family interment will take place at a later date. John greatly appreciated the company and support of his many relatives and friends at St. Johns Roman Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and Herman Prior Centre. Predeceased by his loving wife of 40 years Maureen (nee Martin) in 1990; his brothers, Peter and Henry; brothers-in-law Jack Martin, Bill Lacroix, he leaves to mourn his passing his son Martin and wife Marlene, grandson Curtis of Prince Albert; son William and wife Terry, grandchildren, Nick, Megan, Sarah of Chilliwack, BC; son Paul; daughter Suzi and grandsons Isaac and Jan of Duncan, BC; daughter Margaret (Marcel) of Winnipeg; daughter Julie of Rocky Point, PEI. Also surviving are brothers, Gerhard (Marie) Schroeder, Dave (Tina) Janzen and Jake (Caroline) Janzen, all of Altona; sisters-in-law, Betty Martin of Winnipeg, Sheilagh Lacroix of Guelph, ON; brother-in-law Michael Martin (Beth-Anne) of Toronto. John was dearly loved by all his family and will be sorely missed. Memorial donations may be made to Sunset Palliative, Box 92, Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, R1N 3B2 or the charity of your choice.
