SANDOR HAUSZNER Peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer, with his family by his side, Sandor (Alex) Hauszner, passed away at the age of 68 years on Sunday, July 30, 2000. He was the beloved husband of Edith for 45 years, cherished father of Alex and Susie of Winnipeg and Edith and Bryan of Calgary; loving papa of grandchildren, Wayne, Lauren, Alana, Alexander, Nikki and Sydney. Sandor was born in Hungary and emigrated to Canada in 1956 with his young family. Through hard work, Sandor accomplished much; a successful business owner, a competitive soccer player and prized racing pigeons. Sandor devoted much of his time to the Racing Pigeon Association and the Hungarian Cultural Society. He was very proud of his Hungarian heritage and happily visited his homeland many times throughout his life. Papas love of Hungarian music and life will remain with us always. According to Sandors wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial service for Sandor will be held on Thursday, August 3 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 365 Burnell St. with Father Paul Hancko officiating. A gathering of family and friends will follow at the Hungarian Cultural Society, 441 - 443 Selkirk Ave. Special thanks to Dr. Harris and the oncology department nursing staff of the Grace General Hospital.
