WALTER DRESNA Funeral service for Walter Dresna, age 71 years, a resident of 423 N. Court St., Thunder Bay, who passed away on July 10, 2000 after a brief illness, were held on Saturday, July 15, 2000 at Sargent and Son Funeral Chapel with Rev. P.M. Stilla V.F. officiating. Pallbearers were Bob Brunton, Nelson Brunton and Ron Moran of Winnipeg, Man., Tim Buckley of Regina, Sask., Emil Sorensen and Bob Stevenson of Thunder Bay, Ont. Interment followed at St. Andrews Roman Catholic Cemetery. Walter was born in Winnipeg, Man. and was raised and educated in Sioux Lookout, Ont. He was employed by the C.N.R. as trainman conductor for 36 years, retiring in 1984. In 1985 Walter and his wife Joan retired to Thunder Bay, Ont. and have resided there since that time. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife of 49 years, Joan; daughter Maureen (Bob) Brunton; grandson Rob (Rebecca) Brunton of Phoenix, Arizona; grandson Nelson Brunton of Winnipeg; daughter Karen Cochrane; granddaughters, Lisa and Lindsay Cochrane of Winnipeg; granddaughter Jennifer North of Dartmouth, N.S.; sisters, Rose Fegus, Helen (Buddy) Hambleton of Winnipeg; brother-in-law Tim (Gaile) Buckley of Regina, Sask.; sister-in-law Kathy (Dr. George) Sofko of Saskatoon, Sask.; step-brother John (Fern) Rubick of Thorold, Ont., numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. He was predeceased by his parents, son Johnny in 1977 and brother-in-law Lorne Fegus in 1973. The Dresna family would like to thank everyone for their support during this difficult time, to those who visited with us, sent flowers, food, memorial donations and cards. Your expressions of sympathy and concern were most appreciated and will be remembered. - Walters family.
