WILLIAM "BILL" THOMAS ROSS After a lengthy illness, Bill passed away at Park Manor Personal Care Home in Transcona, Man. on Tuesday, August 1, 2000. Bill was born July 30, 1927 in Rainy River, Ont., the youngest son of George and Jean Ross. He received his early education in Rainy River then went on to join the Canadian National Railways in 1942 working as an electrician in Rainy River, Fort Frances, Thunder Bay and Transcona. He retired as an Electrical Supervisor in 1985. He was a member of The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and The Ionic Lodge No. 461 A.F. & A.M. He enjoyed spending time at Lake of the Woods and playing cards with his family and friends. Bill was predeceased by his parents, brothers, Peter and Jack and his sisters Jessie Shatford and Georgina Dalseg. He is survived by his nephews Doug Rosler, Peter and Doug Ross and nieces, Janice Zaletel, Sandra Allen, Shanley Parkinson and Jackie, Susan, Debbie and Bonnie Ross. Also surviving are his stepchildren, Beverly, Bernice, Brenda, Becky, Belinda-Jo, Blake and their mother Julie. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service to celebrate Bills life will be held at Wojciks Funeral Chapel, 2157 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB on Friday, August 4 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at a later date in the family plot in Rainy River, Ont. Our family extends special thanks to the staff at Park Manor Personal Care Home for the care and compassion shown to Bill.
