Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGE HENRY TOMLINSON George Henry, our husband, dad, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend passed away peacefully July 29, 2000, surrounded by loved ones. George lived a full and happy life. Born March 12, 1923 in Edmonton, Alta., his family moved to North Vancouver in 1935. George began his Sheet Metal Apprenticeship at the Burrard Dry Dock Co. Limited during the Second World War. In 1956 during the construction of Alcan in Kitimat, B.C. George met his wife Alberta. They were married on July 28, 1956. George continued his career in Toronto and Winnipeg. George and Alberta spent some of their best times at "The Cottage" at Netley Creek, Petersfield, Man. George retired in 1987 from Westeel Rosco Ltd. in Edmonton, Alta. and returned to his beloved West Coast. Survived by his wife Alberta of New Westminster and his stepmother Edith Zagol of North Vancouver. He is also survived by his children, Sherry (David) Kidd, Dawn (Hugh) Lamont, Colleen Tomlinson and George H. (Chris) Tomlinson. His grandchildren, Catharine (Troy) Pavan, Chris (Tracy) Dunsford and Todd (Cathy) Phillips. George is also survived by many brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces, cousins and many, many long time friends. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association. George was a strong and respected man who will be remembered by all those whos lives he has touched.
