HELEN BODNAR (nee FERENCE) It is with deep sorrow that the family announces the sudden passing of Helen Bodnar, of Selkirk, Man., on July 31, 2000, at the age of 81 years. Helen was predeceased by her husband Nick in 1993. She leaves to cherish her memory her son Gordon (Shirley) of Saskatoon, grandchildren, Kristen and Jordan; daughter Irene (John) of Selkirk, grandchildren, Jared (Maria) and Dana (Scott) and various friends and neighbours. Helen was born in Poland and immigrated to Canada with her husband in 1948. They lived in Selkirk where they raised their family. Helen had several jobs for short periods of time but her main role was caring for her family. She spent her spare time tending her many plants and sewing. Her greatest love was her family and she would rather do without herself and give to them. She was generous to a fault. Her grandchildren were most precious to her and she often said how pleased she was about how they were doing. We know she will continue to watch their lives from above. She will be sadly missed by all. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, August 4, at 7:30 p.m., Notre Dame Catholic Church, Selkirk, with Fr. Boguslaw Wardzinski officiating. Cremation to follow service. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to a charity of your choice. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
