JOHN NICOLSON John, beloved husband of Carole, passed away peacefully with his family at his side, on Thursday, August 3, 2000, at the St. Boniface Hospital, after a battle with cancer. Left behind to celebrate his life are his wife Carole and daughter Sandie, her husband Jeff Landa; Johns sister Marnie Patterson and her family; Johns brother Bruce Nicolson and his family; Johns mother-in-law Carrie Nicolson; and close family friends, Amy and Ken Haworth. John was born January 25, 1942, in Winnipeg. He married Carole on May 14, 1966, and had a daughter Sandra on May 2, 1970. He was a devoted husband and father and will be missed dearly. John retired in May 1999 after a distinguished career in the agriculture and banking industries. He made many friends throughout his career and will be missed by those he touched. Friends and family helped to create many of his most cherished memories - either on the curling rink, the golf course or at the cottage. We will always remember his welcoming arms, loving smile and gentle nature. A gathering of friends and family will be held on Thursday, August 10, at 2:00 p.m. at 183 Douglas Park Rd. We would like to thank the staff on the Palliative Care Ward at the St. Boniface Hospital for their compassionate care. In memory of John, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
