Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN KOLBUCK On Sunday, July 30, 2000 at the Victoria Hospital, John Kolbuck, aged 92 years of Central Park Lodge, formerly of Selkirk, Man., passed away peacefully. Born October 14, 1907 in Melrose, Man., he farmed with his brothers on the family farm, later working his own land in East Selkirk, Man. John was employed by Manitoba Hydro retiring in 1972 as a heavy equipment operator in which he took great pride. In 1965, he moved to Selkirk, Man. where he resided until 1998 moving first to the Tudor House in Selkirk, Man., then to Central Park Lodge, Winnipeg. John was predeceased by his wife Nellie in 1964; brothers, Walter and Charlie; sisters, Kate Chmelnicki, Victoria Stebbings and Nellie Wilson. He is survived by sons, Ted (Violet) of Transcona, William (Patricia) of St. Andrews, Man.; daughters, Ruth Johnson (Gilbert) of Port Alberni, B.C., Eileen Karasiuk (Rudy Fisler) of Nanoose Bay, B.C.; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also surviving is his long time companion Olive Smith of Winnipeg; his brother Martin (Mary) Kolbuck of Winnipeg, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In keeping with Johns wishes, cremation has taken place. A family graveside service will be held at a later date in Port Alberni, B.C. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Victoria Hospital, 5th floor and Central Park Lodge, 5th floor for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
